This is a unique opportunity to purchase the intellectual property assets behind Toximet, a food safety technology company focussed on mycotoxins throughout the global food supply chain.

Toximet is an award-winning food safety technology company, and the Company was set up for the purpose of testing for food toxins in the global food supply chain.

The Toximet solution offers an accurate and affordable method for testing food toxins, particularly mycotoxins. The solution can be implemented by non-scientists outside of the laboratory environment. Further, the Toximet solution can be used to test a variety of items throughout the global food supply chain including nuts, dried fruits and green coffee.

To date, the Company has worked with a number of high-profile companies including Tilda Rice, Sainsbury’s and Suhana Spice, demonstrating the Company’s applicability to the food supply chain. With accreditation from UKAS, and press coverage including the BBC, Toximet presents a potentially significant opportunity for the food, drink and biotechnology industries, as well as the pharmacology sector. Given the unique patents and technology that underpin the Company’s device, there are also significant monetisation opportunities through worldwide licensing or infringement actions.

Toximet’s technology uses the Toxiquant device, providing a unique solution to the issue of testing for mycotoxins in a variety of food items. The Toximet system comes in three parts: the ‘Toxisep’ clean-up cartridge, ‘Toxitrace’ measurement cartridge and ‘Toxiquant’ measurement instrument. The ToxiQuant instrument is calibrated during manufacturing removing the need for users to handle toxins.

According to the Company, the process takes just 40 minutes to produce a highly accurate result and ensures efficiency by facilitating the testing of multiple toxins simultaneously. Toximet’s technology  has been designed for use by non-scientists and, according to Toximet, is simple to use with low maintenance requirements.
