IP assets of electrical and mechanical engineering experts brought to market by Metis Partners

The IP assets, notably an extensive design portfolio and an industry wide reputation for excellence of international electrical and mechanical engineers, A-Belco Group are being offered for sale by Metis Partners, the award-winning, commercial intellectual property consulting firm.

Based in the Midlands, the company was incorporated in 1999 and operated a number of divisions, including Hadar Lighting, A-Belco Hazardous Area, A-Belco Electrical Engineering, and A-Belco industrial connectors which had manufactured the trademarked Easigo range of industrial plugs, sockets and electrical connectors since 1910.

The company achieved revenues in excess of £6 million in 2015, and in excess of £9 million in 2014, and has been associated with high-value projects and global companies such as Saudi Aramco and BAE systems. The divisions of the company held accreditation including ISO9001, and were associated with the International Export Award 2014.

In addition to the company’s portfolio of registered trade marks, the sale includes customer databases, organisational knowledge, goodwill in the brand and reputation and branded domain name and website content.

Nat Baldwin of Metis Partners, who is co-ordinating the assignment, said: “A-Belco has a comprehensive and extensive portfolio of schedule and certification designs, manufacturing and fabrication designs, and superb goodwill and brand recognition.

“This sale will be of immediate interest to those operating in the oil and gas, hazardous area equipment manufacturing, and electrical and mechanical engineering sectors. We expect to see a large amount of interest in this sale.”
