Business Overview

McEwen’s excellent reputation for quality can be traced back to its early customers who entrusted the construction of made-to-measure garments to the skilled tailors and seamstresses in the McEwens of Perth tailoring workshop. The business gradually earned a national reputation for offering the latest fashion and up to the minute designs and has grown to become Scotland’s largest independent department store chain.

Over time, McEwens of Perth expanded their Perth premises and opened stores in numerous other locations across Scotland, including Oban, Inverness, Aberdeen, Granton, Glamis, Ballater, and Crieff. To mark the 50th anniversary of McEwens of Perth serving Royal Deeside, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Rothesay opened the Company’s expanded and relocated Ballater store.

The business drove circa £8m in revenues through in-store and online sales in 2015. In modern times, the brand has evolved to attract a wide selection of loyal returning customers.
