Engagement
Metis Partners were engaged by FRP Advisory, the Company’s administrators, to manage a marketing and sale process, to find an acquirer of the Company’s IP portfolio following the Company entering into administration a few months prior. The IP sale was less than straightforward due to the fact that the secured creditor was also the exclusive third-party distributor of the Company’s products and controlled all of the customer relationships. The assignment was further complicated by an ongoing IP dispute.
Company
Fog Fellow Designs specialised in the sale of commercial products aimed at addressing the global environmental issue of grease recovery. The company's IP Portfolio underpinned a patent-protected series of automatic grease recovery units ("GRUs"), designed to collect fat and grease from commercial kitchens. These GRU’s were installed in hundreds of outlets across the UK and the brand had secured contracts with certain notable UK fast-food chains.
