Highlight of this IP Sale
This was a niche business model and Factory Media had already acquired and consolidated a number of publications companies, which limited the opportunity to find competing brands that might be interested. We adopted a different marketing strategy focused on demonstrating how this particular bundle of IP rights could be monetized by numerous different parties that were operating up and down the supply chain. This brought additional interested parties and the ultimate acquirer was an online sports retailer who saw the value in owning sports publications rather than incurring the costs of advertising its retail products in these and other sports publications.
