IP Sale Opportunity – Proven “Social Good” Technology Platform

On behalf of FRP Advisory Trading Limited, Metis Partners has been appointed to manage the marketing and pre-sale of the intellectual property (“IP”) assets of Lightful Ltd (“Lightful” or the “Company”), a global leader in “social good” technology.

The Company is headquartered in London, UK, and has supported over 4,000 non-profit organisations worldwide, partnering with major funders including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UBS Optimus Foundation, and Vitol Foundation to deliver initiatives tackling climate change, gender equality, and disaster response.

The Company’s flagship BRIDGE programme is a high-impact initiative that equips non-profits with essential digital skills, tailored coaching, and collaborative peer support.

Lightful’s proprietary technology is built around the Lightful Platform, a modular system developed entirely in-house to deliver scalability, security, and innovation for non-profits. Key modules include a web-based client interface, graphQL-powered API backend, PostgreSQL infrastructure management, AWS deployment, and AI integration.

Additional IP assets include proprietary databases (including over one million non-profit social media posts shared via the platform and more than 360 million points of social analytics data), organisational knowledge (templates, SOPs, programme design), and nine domain names including www.lightful.com.

Lightful raised approximately £16.5m across multiple funding rounds since 2016 and generated revenues of circa £900k in 2024 and was close to reaching breakeven before entering liquidation. This opportunity is likely to be of interest to buyers and investors in non-profit technology, SaaS, social impact platforms, and AI-driven digital transformation.
