IP Valuation Analyst (up to £24,000 DOE)


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious full-time intellectual property (IP) Valuation Analyst based in our Glasgow office.

Role outline:

The candidate will work in the IP Valuation team, using the knowledge gained in training to identify and value the IP assets belonging to clients, across various commercial scenarios and sectors.

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to progress their career within a dynamic firm, operating in a niche and exciting market. Although beneficial, no previous knowledge or experience of IP is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out royalty rate agreement searches
  • Calculation of IP value, utilising various methods
  • Carrying out corporate research
  • Carrying out IP and commercial due diligence
  • Financial and risk rate analysis
  • Draft IP Valuation reports and proposals
  • Conduct IP discovery calls with clients

Other responsibilities on an ad hoc basis include:

  • Client engagement and hospitality
  • Records management and document filing
  • Maintaining client communication when required
  • Attending valuation/marketing events when required

Skills and qualities required:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commercial awareness in a client-facing role
  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and appreciate the rigour required in the delivery of professional services

  • Enjoy setting and achieving targets and thrive on a fast-moving and results-oriented environment

  • Possess a can-do attitude and take pride in quality of work performed

  • Can conduct yourself in a professional and sensitive manner

  • Are a team player that can work effectively both independently as well as collaboratively

  • Ability to work independently through a project and manage own workload and priorities effectively in order to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in using MS Word and Excel

Academic attributes desirable:

  • Evidence of strong academic achievement preferably in a relevant degree such as Business, Accounting, Maths, Finance & Economics

  • Although beneficial, no previous knowledge or experience of IP is required
