Business Development Executive – Part-time (£COMPETITIVE)

Who we are

Metis Partners is an Intellectual Property (“IP”) Valuation firm with a proven track record in the assessment, valuation and sale of IP assets. What we do

We identify, value and sell IP for a range of clients, big and small, private and PLC, across numerous sectors. Our approach is focused on analysing a business, its key resources, its competitive advantage and how IP contributes to the business. We get a unique, inside view of what makes companies tick – both the successful ones and those who are failing. We also provide support other professionals, advising on and facilitating business turnarounds leveraging the value of IP assets to attract rescue funding.

We operate across three IP disciplines: IP Valuation, IP Advisory and Corporate Recovery and Restructuring. A Senior Manager heads up each of the three teams. Metis Partners is acknowledged as the UK market leader in IP Valuation and IP Sale and is expanding its niche international business in the US and Europe.

What the role involves

We are currently recruiting for a part-time Business Development Executive that can extend our professional reach and support our expansion across all three disciplines.

Working directly with the Founder and Senior Managers, the role will involve daily contact with accountants, lawyers, insolvency practitioners, M&A professionals and corporates. The right candidate will be fully versed in our IP services and be confident discussing these via phone, content-led emails, meetings and events.

Key responsibilities

  • Fostering lasting relationships with influencers & decision makers, particularly in professional services
  • Developing cold and warm leads; appraising which service they need and making the necessary introductions to our Senior Managers to secure client engagement
  • Working with our Marketing Manager and actively contributing to marketing activities
  • Delivering our business development matrix; our approach designed to maximise engagement with target contacts in order to increase total turnover

Skills required

  • A track record in business development within professional services
  • A commitment to learn about IP and the services we offer and the self-confidence to sell these services to corporates and professional advisors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and professional discretion; assignments can be commercially sensitive/confidential
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to take responsibility for achieving targets
