William Dawson, Daniel Smith and Paul Meadows of Deloitte LLP, Joint Administrators of Bank Fashion Limited (in Administration) (“BANK” or “the Company”) have appointed Metis Partners to sell the extensive trade mark portfolio and the goodwill rights in numerous brands traded by the Company. Trade marked brands available for sale include the high street staple brand “BANK” as well as related IP assets including a customer database and domain name, and attractive ladies and menswear brands “Ribbon”, “Heaven Sent”, “Fred & Boston”, “Kitsch Couture”, “Bishoujo”, “Irreverence”, “Tortured Genius”, “Subsocial” and “Turn & Face”.
Launched in the early 1990s as one of the first UK branded fashion concepts, BANK is established as a leading retailer of trendy and dynamic fashion items. A number of attractive own-label fashion brands were created or acquired by the Company over its lifespan. Sales of branded products have been made in a chain of over 80 BANK stores across the UK stores and online. Annual turnover has repeatedly exceeded the £100m mark in recent years.
The brands have benefitted from the Company’s extensive marketing activities and have featured in marketing material including e-shots, outdoor imagery, catalogues, magalogues and lookbooks. The brands have also been enhanced by the Company’s strong social media presence achieving over 185,000 Facebook likes and over 37,000 Twitter followers.
The IP assets have been divided into ten lots, one in relation to each brand and related trade marks available for sale.
The BANK brand has been an important high street name for more than two decades bringing the latest catwalk trends to fashion-savvy customers. Assets available for sale alongside the BANK brand include the bankfashion.co.uk domain name and an extensive customer database.
Heaven Sent is BANK’s edgy, “rock chick” glam brand.
Irreverence is a menswear brand associated with rebellious urban gothic looks.
Turn & Face is a casual clothing and accessories brand.
Subsocial is a menswear brand associated with bold graphics and humorous statement pieces.
Fred & Boston is a casual sports and streetwear brand with an American culture and lifestyle inspiration.
Bishoujo is an attractive brand inspired by Japanese anime and manga animation characters.
Tortured Genius is a modern casual menswear brand with a distinctive and provocative brand name.
Kitsch Couture is best known as a chique and glamorous ladies’ footwear brand and has wide brand extension potential having previously been applied to jersey clothing items.
One of BANK’s best-selling ladieswear brands, Ribbon has been applied to collections of spirited and feminine clothing and footwear.
